Engineering simulation software company Ansys has launched Ansys SimAI, a novel AI-based technology that operates as a physics-agnostic Software as a Service (SaaS) application. The tool is designed to seamlessly combine the predictive accuracy of Ansys simulation with the rapid capabilities of generative AI.
Specifically designed to cater to the growing demand for engineering software solutions that enhance productivity without compromising precision, Ansys SimAI is engineered to predict performance within minutes. This development aims to democratize simulation processes through user-friendly interfaces and streamlined procedures.
Ansys SimAI incorporates advanced generative AI into the design process, thereby redefining existing processes to meet dynamic market needs.
Departing from traditional reliance on geometric parameters, the application uses the design’s shape itself as the input, facilitating broader design exploration even when the structure of the shape varies across training data. Notably, Ansys says the application can significantly enhance the prediction of model performance, with potential improvements ranging from 10 to 100 times for computation-intensive projects.
The application’s flexibility allows customers to train the AI using Ansys and non-Ansys data, hosted on a secure cloud infrastructure to ensure data privacy. William Becamel, an expert leader in numerical modeling and simulation at Renault Group, was impressed by the ability of Ansys SimAI to redefine digital engineering workflows and reshape perceptions of what is achievable. Ansys says that by expediting simulation speeds, organizations can explore more technical possibilities during the upstream phase of projects and reduce time-to-market.
